Existing to create the best possible moving image communication (TVC, Film, Titles, Sponsorship, Ident, Corporate, Sting, Viral,) for the resources available, whilst also enjoying the work. I have high levels of repeat business, My aim is to provide the most efficient crew, embracing new ideas, adding value and concepts, working with complex postproduction requirements regularly. Understanding the underlying client and political issues, giving extra planning preproduction and deep forethought. Understanding the current climate and the production realities means whatever your budget; we’ll work within it, resulting in smooth good atmosphere shoots with slick results.
We work as a close-knit, compact, team who are together most of the time and have been so for many years. Shoots are tailored to provide the least waste possible in terms of manpower, equipment and time. All our crew are team players. I spread my excess energy, in the form of moderated urgency and light hearted humour across the whole shoot; working quickly keeps energy levels up and boredom down. We tend to do less overtime than many other crews, which leaves the production not so skint, putting the money onscreen where it counts. I lead from the front and can regularly be found: in the rigging, on the lighting truck, looking thru camera, up a ladder, holding a focus chart, helping art dept, laying track etc and am known as one of the fastest / busiest Cameramen in the land with minimal ego. I fashioned flexibility, born out of experience of producing my own shoots, long before others were forced to adapt in these “crunchy” times. Concept/script/idea/execution over the equipment it is executed on, is key. I have a strong belief that filming should be fun, and thoroughly enjoy my work, and getting the best out of my crew and resources. I have a big supply of diplomacy, tenacity and energy to cover your production. Recently we’ve shot on: Red, 35MM, 16MM, Phantom HD, EX1-HD, HD-SR, HD-CAM, VPC-HD1000, Iconix. Some countries I have worked in: Barbados, Canada, USA, Argentina, Germany, Australia, Chile, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Norway, St Lucia, France, Sweden, Romania, Croatia, Ibiza, Finland, Arctic Circle (inside), South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, USSR, Malaysia, India, Italy, Jamaica, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Dubai, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt. Madagascar. “There is a huge difference between getting an exposure and lighting”.
